|You're not suppose to use any lotion, just leave your skin dry as a bone or you'll clog the epilator! Here's a little island of hair surrounded by a sea of cleanly plucked skin.|

A few weeks ago I decided to quit shaving. I was so sick of shaving my legs/armpits every other day. It's so time consuming and annoying. I thought I'd try waxing but it's pretty costly in the long run ( about $30-$50 each time you go), and I didn't want to self wax (a lot of gooey mess and let's face it, I'd probably burn the bejesus outta myself). So what's left?
Have you ever heard of an epilator? I thought I knew what it was ( I use to think it was some sort of lotion that opens your pores so hair is more easily removed, sorta like Nair I guess). Turns out it's a handy little tool that plucks the hair for you, at super fast speeds so before you can flinch the hair is already gone.
This isn't for chumps! It hurts like a bitch let me tell you. You will wince and immediately regret your decision, but guess what? After 5 seconds, you see smooth silky skin that will stay that way for another 5 weeks, and you think, 'Hmmm....I can handle the pain. Bring it on!" And you go to battle with your hair, and you win my friends! You win!
I'll tell you how to use it. First take a warm/hot/steamy shower to open your pores, and exfoliate all the dead skin off your body with a scrub or scrub brush. When you get out of the shower, dry yourself completely, and no lotion! Your skin has to be bone dry, so try to sit in a breezy or cool place that's comfy because you might be there for a while. There are tons of epilators out there but I settled on Emoji Soft Caress because the price was fair (around $40) and it's rechargeable (yes!) and you can use it on the cord if the battery is dying (aw yeah!) AND it got a lot of positive reviews everywhere I looked (nods head mm hmm).
So far so good! I sorta did a little everyday for 3-4 days (I'm a chump) but it's been a week or two and my armpits are silky smooth, and my legs are pretty flawless. I'm a happy camper over here :) Just thought I'd share with you all too.
