I spent the majority of the day just working, which pretty much looks like me staring and furiously typing away on my laptop. By the late afternoon I literally felt my brain starting to fry so I told myself to look away from the screen and go outside. And that's exactly what I did, and boy did I feel better. I threw on this vintage fruit print jacket since it was cool out, over this striped top and surprisingly comfy Chinese Laundry heels.
I took a breather at a nearby park and sort of just.....sat there. There were a lot of birds chirping and the sound of a lawnmower a few blocks away. Then deeper than that I started to hear more things- the sound the leaves make when the wind kicks them up, the faint sound of an argument in Spanish going on across the street.
And when I really stopped to listen, I could hear myself breathing, and I realized it was slow, and that it was the first time in a long time that I was seriously relaxed. And it felt very very nice. It didn't hurt that the weather was super breezy and crisp out. That's definitely something to cheer about when you live in Miami.
And just to get you guys in a super relaxed mood take a listen to this song. Nothing relaxes me more than listening to Justin Vernon sing.
