Last weekend I headed to Panther coffee in Wynwood to hang out with local jewelry designers Nat and Cat of Momacat. Two really cool girls making some amazing jewelry.
I know you wanna learn more, so dig in guys!
Introduce yourself and tell us what is it you do? Also mention who is on the Momacat team.
Well, The Momacat team consists of my sister Catherine and I. Cat deals with the more administrative part of our store (orders, pricing, emails, social networking, advertising, etc.). While I, Natalie, am in charge of the overall design of Momacat (product shots, photoshoots, images, concepts, inspirations, etc.). Both of us work as buyers for the site and Andrew Marrero is our in-house photographer.
Are you originally from Miami? If not, where are you from?
Yes, born and raised in Miami!
Briefly explain the inspiration behind Momacat?
Momacat is inspired by 1960s Hollywood glam. It seeks to recreate the colorful style of the 1960s with a modern twist.
We hear you have plans on making apparel as well, will they have the same retro feel to them?
Yes it will have the same vibe as our jewelry, and the apparel should be available on our site by early March 2013. It'll be very colorful, very flashy. We're also going to debut some swimwear designed by Natalie in February 2013.
Your jewelry prices are so affordable, everything between $6-$22! Will your prices always stay this way?
For now, we have no plans of increasing our prices. We want to sell fun, sexy, affordable jewelry.
Thanks so much Momacat! If you guys follow me on instagram then you will have already seen the AHH-MAZING braided collar necklace they gave me as a gift. It's so beautiful and before I could even make it home I was stopped and asked where I got it from! So beautiful and you guys can pick up your own by clicking right here!
